God’s Way Versus the World’s Way
Nothing counts in this world but God’s will. St. Augustine said, “Love God, then do what you will.” If we come from a place of love for God, how can we err?
My friend has had a terrible time in extensive relapse, suffering tremendous weight gains, as well as great personal and financial losses. Back on the food plan, she admitted that she had considered bypass surgery. However, she declined that option saying, “It isn’t spiritual. Recovery is the spiritual path for me.” Heeding the will of God for her, she deliberately chose the way of spiritual growth.
The source of our ultimate victory over food addiction is through unconditional surrender to God’s will. Such faith leads to liberation and the enjoyment of all of God’s gifts.
AFFIRMATION: I have surrendered myself to the love of God.
REFLECTION: Where will I find ultimate victory over food addiction?
